Stricter liability for calling for sanctions, introduction of a single voting day and suspension of the readmission agreement with the EU. The Parliament has opened its autumn session. Twenty documents have already been included in the agenda, another 17 are being studied by the relevant commissions, including the tourism bill, the education code, the law on bank deposit compensation, and many others. The first day turned out to be fruitful.
The autumn session is not held in the easiest conditions, said speaker Vladimir Andreychenko in his opening address. The sanctions pressure is not weakening, but it is only a reason to work even more effectively. There is a big dialogue in the country right now about our future. But first, we must decide on a single day of voting, and that is the first issue today.
The discussion of this bill in the House of Representatives ended today, it was approved, but the discussion of the document on calls for sanctions has just begun. It was introduced to the Parliament by Chairman of the Standing Committee on National Security Oleg Belokonev. He says that such an article in the criminal code already existed. But there is a need to strengthen the responsibility.
Another important issue on the agenda is the suspension of the readmission agreement with the European Union. The document was prepared as a response to unfriendly actions against Belarus. In addition, deputies considered changes to the legislation on advertising, tourism and bank deposits. The upper house of parliament, the Council of the Republic, also opens its autumn session today.
