Open ice rinks are extremely popular in Minsk. Many of them are created especially for schoolchildren. The guys spend the whole evening skating near school No. 56. The facility also has sports equipment rental (not only skates but also skis). Moreover, it can be obtained free of charge for all interested children in the neighborhood.
Viktor Aliseyko, deputy head of secondary school No.56 in Minsk: "The school has the opportunity to fill the skating rink, to popularize winter sports such as cross-country skiing and biathlon. There are a shooting range and a good ski base."
About a dozen ice rinks have been organized on school grounds in Frunzensky neighborhood. There are more than 50 open skating rinks and hockey rinks in Minsk.
