Remains of 83 Red Army soldiers reburied in agricultural town Zaronovo. Names of victims unknown

The remains of 83 Red Army soldiers who died in the territory of Vitebsk Region during the Great Patriotic War were reburied in agricultural town Zaronovo. The victims have not been identified. The ceremony was attended by servicemen, schoolchildren, government officials and public organizations. The soldiers who died were given military honors. The servicemen of the 52nd separate specialized battalion together with their Moscow and Vitebsk colleagues carried out the search work. Such activities also took place in the territory of Vitebsk Region and Liozno District. The remains of 189 soldiers were found.

The memorial in Zaronovo was created in 1980. This is one of the largest burials in Vitebsk Region. More than 8 000 defenders of the Motherland are found peace here.
