Gaidukevich: Donbass residents thank Belarus for support

9 июня 2022
As for the Ukrainian crisis, Belarus and the Belarusians are providing all possible assistance to the brotherly people. Now there is our humanitarian mission in Donbass. A large delegation of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus arrived in the Donetsk People's Republic. Party leader Oleg Gaidukevich told our TV channel about the purpose of the visit and the situation in the region in an exclusive commentary.

Belarusians have one peaceful and humanitarian mission everywhere

We are everywhere; we are perceived all over the world as a country that brings peace and help. And here our delegation has come with a humanitarian mission. We brought aid for women, we brought food for children, we brought clothes. And the second goal, of course, is to see with our own eyes everything that's going on, to see everything, to talk to the local people. Today we were in Mariupol. You understand that people love Belarus so much, they love Lukashenko so much and do you know why? Exactly for the fact that we bring peace.

It's a crime to bomb Donetsk

You know, people here live under missile attacks. Yesterday, there were missile attacks, today when we were driving from Mariupol, the car was shaking, because artillery was working and the blast wave was rising, it was felt very strong. And you know what I saw with my own eyes? It's a crime to bomb Donetsk. I didn't see the military there, there are children, women, old people walking down the street, this is a city that just wants to live peacefully and well.

The Donetsk People's Republic is proud of its friendly relations with Belarus.

They know that all these years and now Belarus does everything for peace in the region. That's what people here understand, feel and are grateful for and very jealous of. They say: we have dreamed of a life similar to that in Belarus, we wish we had such a life similar to yours. So, they know our country, they love it, they appreciate it and are proud that they have such friends.
