Fundamental and applied science was discussed at the Palace of Independence yesterday. It concerned the development of nuclear technologies and how to give them impetus.

A delegation from Kurchatov Institute is on a visit to Minsk. The President discussed the prospects for cooperation with the leadership of the Russian research center. According to Alexander Lukashenko, the meeting may become historic. Partnership in this area can be more productive: Russian colleagues occupy leading positions in the world from the most modern scientific developments to the peaceful atom researches. Kurchatov Institute supported its Belarusian colleagues in the construction of a nuclear power plant. They also plan to expand this area and to use the experience of our specialists for the construction of such unique facilities abroad.

The leadership of the Institute highly appreciated the competence of our specialists. Belarus is the only post-Soviet Republic that has kept science at such a decent level, the Russian guests have noted. Various scientific institutes work successfully in our country. All of this is a solid foundation for effective interaction.

Russians are the main partners of Belarusian scientists in many studies.
