Starting from today, participants of the Great Patriotic War will be receiving financial aid. The amounts each veteran will get will vary depending on their status.
Heroes of the Soviet Union, holders of the Order of Glory of the three degrees and socialist labour heroes will receive 10 million Br each. 8 million Br will be allocated to disabled war veterans and professionals who participated in mine clearance in Belarus in the first years after the liberation from the Nazi occupation.
Recipients of USSR orders and medals for rear service and builders of defense constructions and military facilities will receive 3.5 million Br each. Financial support will also be provided to those who served at front line railroads and motorways, Leningrad siege survivors, the families of soldiers, partisans and underground fighters who were killed or missing, invalids since childhood due to war-related injuries and former prisoners of Nazi concentration camps.
More than 50,000 people across the country will be eligible for the financial aid worth a total of 260 billion Br.
