The 8th International Exhibition of Arms and Military Machinery MILEX 2017 was launched in Belarus. The newest developments of the Belarusian defence industry will be presented at two venues in Minsk – at Minsk 1 Airport and at Minsk Arena. All in all, the exhibition will host 200 companies from 30 countries. Among them are Russia, Ukraine Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, India, China, Greece, Poland, Germany, Canada, France, Finland, the Czech Republic, and many others.
The opening ceremony at the Minsk Arena complex has already begun. High-ranking guests and officials from Belarus take part in it. Multimillion-dollar contracts are expected to be signed at the exhibition. Belarus sells arms and weapons to the tune of $ 1 bn a year. Over the past 5 years, this figure has doubled.
The Belarusian military industry definitely has something new to demonstrate to viewers and potential customers. Among the most striking new products is the Belarusian Cayman, a light armoured carrier that was created by Belarusian professionals in Borisov.
