Augustov Cycling international route opens on Augustov Canal

On bicycles to Belarus from Europe. Augostov Cycling new international route opened on the Augustov Canal.  This is a cross-border project for the development of tourism infrastructure of the Podlaskie Voivodeship of Poland and Grodno Region. The cycling route connected the border checkpoint "Lesnaya - Rudavka" with the city of Grodno.

The new tourist route  is designed for outdoor enthusiasts.  The total length of the route in Grodno Region is about 50 kilometers.

It was also possible to implement such a cross-border project thanks to the operation of a visa-free regime in the territory of Grodno Region. The route was laid so that tourists could visit as many sights as possible: the Avgustov Canal, palace complexes and historical places of Grodno.

Vladimir Kravtsov, chairman of Grodno Regional Executive Committee: “We agreed and signed such an agreement a year ago to join the international European cycling routes, which are literally near our border. "

The main task of the new cycle route is to attract foreign tourists. Guests are expected not only from Poland, but also from the whole European Union.
