Minsk metro train carriages have been turned into mobile libraries with book shelves and excerpts from famous literary works on the walls. The project’s authors seek to spark passengers’ interest in reading those works in full.
So far, the literature masterpieces are available only in four subway train carriages, but the number of mobile libraries will soon increase to ten.
The virtual library in the Minsk metro opens free access to a total of over 500,000 works in nine languages.
The social project of one of Belarus’ mobile providers is aimed at promoting reading. The number of mobile library’s registered users exceeds 4,500 people.
