Experts' opinions on integration agenda of Belarus and Russia

6 сентября 2021

Stability of economic development lies at the heart of all allied programs of Belarus and Russia - this is what experts and analysts say on the eve of the talks between the leaders of the two countries. The work on the roadmaps, which have been transformed into programs, has lasted for three years. The main thing on the integration agenda is to create equal conditions for business entities, unify legislation on the basis of the world's best practices.

Yuri Krupnov, political and public figure, chairman of the Movement for Development (Russia):

With our combined power, we can produce the planetary value in the form of specific leading products. Thanks to the creation of the Union State, the programs are implemented and we exchange personnel. The Belarusians are doing well, there are many joint teams in the IT sector. But this is not a breakthrough direction. We need cross-cutting programs. We need our own technological base, advanced machine tool engineering, based on digitalization. We need to restore the monopoly on flax. We need to develop aviation in a completely different way and fly our own planes.

The Union programs will help to achieve a breakthrough in various sectors of economy

There are many examples where partnership pays dividends. We have managed to establish the closest cooperation in the military sphere. The states are solving national security issues together.  The Union programs will help to achieve a breakthrough in various branches of the economy. The main principle is that close integration should not undermine the national sovereignty.
