Minsk’s Dinamo Stadium in its final stages of large-scale renovation

2 августа 2017

Dinamo Stadium in Minsk is now in its final stages of a large-scale renovation – the works on installing a new canopy over the stands are nearly over. Beneath it, there will be nearly one third of all the seats. The historical part of the stadium has been well preserved, including the arcade facing Kirov Street. Two years from now on – in June 2019 – the stadium will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the Second European Games, as well as competitions in athletics. At the moment, about 800 people and 9 tower cranes are involved in the renovation.

The stadium was built in the mid 1930s, and this is its sixth reconstruction. Apart from being a major sporting venue, the stadium can also host concerts attended by as many as 15,000 spectators.
