Minsk to host bell-ringing conference

Belarus will attract masters of ringer business. An international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the traditions of bell ringing will start in Minsk tomorrow. The conference’s speaker will be one of the leading researchers of the bells of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania - Gintas Jalenas.

Bogdan Berezkin, head of the department of the bell ringers of Minsk Theological School: "Bell-ringing is an important spiritual component, because it is primarily the voice of God, that appeared long before the birth of Christ. They were established precisely in the church as a signaling tool informing about the beginning of the Divine Service."

Guests will become participants in the bell ring workshop. The Parish of the Icon of the Mother of God "All Who Sorrow Joy" will receive a master class on the bell ringing from the senior bell ringer of the cathedral of Moscow Kremlin and the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
