The citizens of Ukraine keep asking Belarusian border guards for help. About 350 refugees from Ukraine have been let into our country since February 24. People ask for protection in the territory of Belarus, as well as the necessary medical care. Minsk again, of course, does not refuse anyone.
Two families from Chernigov region have been accommodated in one of the health resorts of Gomel Region. The Red Cross staff members brought basic necessities. Refugees, including six children, were given shelter, food, toys and hygiene products. They will stay in the health resort as long as required.
A young mother from Ukraine is grateful for the help of the Belarusians. Our doctors helped her 7-year-old son. He was taken to children's infectious diseases hospital with a high fever, complaints of weak legs and symptoms of acetonemia. Now the boy's health is not threatened. The family was discharged from hospital and the refugees went to their relatives in Belarus.
Obstetricians helped a little Ukrainian boy to be born at Mozyr maternity hospital. The boy was named Bogdan. His mother Yulia had to leave Ukraine in a hurry. Russian soldiers helped her to get to the border. Now mother and child are feeling well.
Minsk is ready to ensure the passage of all citizens of Ukraine who seek protection in the territory of our country. The Belarusian checkpoints operate in a regular mode. The Ukrainian side has suspended the work of its border crossing points on the border with Belarus since February 28.
The Border Committee recommends contacting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country with questions about safe exit from Ukraine and the choice of a transit route to Belarus.
