Obviously, the preliminary results of the referendum do not fit into the picture of the "Land for Life" of our fugitive opposition. And the use of the Ukrainian crisis to swing society is absolutely logical, given that both the fugitive opposition and the Ukrainian authorities are supervised from the same center. This is the opinion of Russian political scientist, radio and TV host Sergei Mikheev.
Sergey Mikheev, political scientist, radio and TV host (Russia):
The actions of the Belarusian opposition and the actions of the Ukrainian authorities are supervised from the same center. I think it's primarily the United States and a couple of their NATO allies that are close to them. They are issuing commands in all directions in connection with Russia's military operation in Ukraine, because here in Russia, they have activated all the resources in the media. As well as in Belarus, since it was the election day.
They need pictures, they need blood, because then they show it in their country. And they show only what they like, what fits into their picture of the world. And they use it there, for example, to justify certain sanctions. Everything is clear: the same center of control, the same actions, the same slogans, the same methods of activity.
