Migration issues: Belarus' contacts with experts of European Commission

23 ноября 2021

The European Commission experts, who will visit the refugees center today, arrived in Belarus on November 22 and have already held consultations with our Foreign Ministry.  During the meetings, Minsk informed them of its position that it is absurd to accuse our state of artificially creating a migrant crisis on the EU border. Our European partners were informed about the efforts of Belarus to ease the situation of refugees on the border. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also drew attention to the approaches and methods of European countries' treatment of refugees that are unacceptable from the point of view of international law and principles of humanism. Belarus emphasized the need to find ways to ensure that refugees seeking to enter the EU finally got there. The parties also agreed to continue contacts between Belarus and the EU in order to resolve the migration problem on the Belarusian-European border.
