As announced by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Press Service, aerial photography shooting for a video presentation of the renovated Privalka border checkpoint was taking place at the border of the two countries on 11 August. The Belarusian drone that was carrying out the shoot had not violated the Lithuanian airspace, which is confirmed by the video recording and GPS logs of the flight. The official Minsk is ready to provide all the data to Lithuanian colleagues. According to the Ministry, Lithuania could have received the information about the drone flight via a border guard official. Taking the matter to the level of foreign ministers only protracts the procedure and gives rise to groundless speculations about border security.
The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry has delivered a note to the Chargé d'Affaires of Belarus in Lithuania today. A corresponding announcement has been posted on the Ministry’s official website.
