The key parameter of foreign economic activity is fulfilled. Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus summed up the results of the department's work in 2020. Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko took part in the expanded meeting of the Foreign Ministry board, and our ambassadors to Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Poland and Great Britain were invited. As Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei noted, the positive balance of our foreign trade exceeded the forecast 3 times.
Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus: "We have fully experienced the growth of global and regional instability, geopolitical and geo-economic rivalry, witnessed an increase in tension in international relations and a further shift in world politics from partnership to the increasingly fierce competition, which have only been exacerbated by coronavirus pandemic.
As a result of the hypertrophied reaction to the results of the Presidential elections held in our country, Belarus was subjected to massive external pressure, including sanctions, from Western countries."
The minister recalled that the focus of the Foreign Ministry remains on the issues of ensuring multi-vector interaction and favorable conditions for the implementation of the country's foreign economic interests. Assistance in the development of integration processes in the Eurasian space remains unchanged, as in the framework of the Belarusian presidency of the EAEU in 2020.
