Belarus continues to fulfill all its international obligations, despite the fact that the European side is already introducing a state of emergency to conceal its illegal actions at the border from the public. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country, it is at least incompetent and unprofessional to try to claim that our country is somehow involved in the increase of the number of border crossings.
Anatoly Glaz, Head of Information and Digital Diplomacy, Spokesman for the Belarusian Foreign Ministry:
The proper protection of its own borders remains the most important task for Belarus. We have communicated to the European side specific statistical data reflecting the systemic efforts of Belarusian border guards to suppress illegal migration channels. Unfortunately, we have not heard similar information, backed up by figures, from the European side. It is the EU that has not responded to our proposals for consultations on migration issues since April. So, the EU actually politicizes migration issues, launches ultimatums, imposes sanctions and makes political demands.
As members of well-known military coalitions, the European Union states are directly related to the growth of migration flows from problematic regions. Therefore, they should bear responsibility for it.
