By Elena Bormotova: Belteleradiocompany held a large-scale patriotic campaign to mark State Emblem and Flag Day. A choir of 3,000 Belarusians performed the national anthem of Belarus in the State Flag Square, accompanied by several orchestras. Belteleradiocompany’s campaign brought together people of different ages — students, workers, military, public and political figures, as well as scientific and cultural elite representatives.
The campaign was preceded by a major competition for the most original performance of Belarus’ anthem, organized by the First Channel of the Belarusian Radio. The project featured over 50 applications and about 2,000 participants from all regions of Belarus. After several competition rounds, 80 finalists performed the campaign’s main song together with People’s Artists and distinguished and exemplary collectives in the State Flag Square.
The concept of the campaign lied in performing Belarus’ landmark music and literary works — the songs and poems from different eras and genres united by love for the nation and pride in the country’s century-long history.
