On June 22, Belarus remembers the victims of the Great Patriotic War. 81 years after, meetings at memorial sites are held across the country. Partial Belarusians met at the memorial complex "Dalva". This village had a terrible fate in June of 1944, a few days before the liberation of our country. 44 peaceful citizens were burnt alive, 29 of them were children (the youngest was not even two years old). A moment of silence was held in memory of the victims, flowers were put to the sculpture "Mother and Child".
Ivan Markevich, deputy chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee:
"This tragedy was the hardest blow to our land, to the Belarusian people. I think the more time and attention we give to this memory, the better we will know our history, the better is the perception of our younger generation."
