By Anna Eismont: Belarus is now the 26th country in the UN global Education Index, even despite the fact that the Belarusian education system is relatively young. Our teachers study the experience of other states and take advantage of the best practices.
The USA is a country with the oldest traditions of school and higher education (the 8th place in the above-mentioned UN rating). Famous Belarusians Maxim Mirny and Vitaly Shcherbo, whose children study in the USA, discover the American education personally.
American general education schools evaluate pupils’ knowledge by the first 5 letters of the alphabet. All textbooks are stored in school. There are no notebooks or diaries there.
The general education school in America is free from primary to high school.
Beginning from grade 6, progress is closely monitored and students are being prepared to enter college. There they have the right to study only those subjects that they will need in the future
