17 февраля 2022
Today, the President of Belarus personally inspected the Allied Resolve-2022 exercise at the training ground near Osipovichi. The Union State's missile troops, artillery and aviation, and units of the airborne troops of Russia took part in the tactical exercise. Alexander Lukashenko was reported on the progress of the maneuvers and on the creation of a joint group of missile forces. It consisted of multiple launch rocket systems Polonez and the Russian complex Iskander.

The systems proved to be excellent. According to Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus will ask Russia to create a training center to operationalize the Iskanders. We are also interested in training our own sailors in Kaliningrad or Murmansk to serve in the joint units. While talking to journalists, the President also commented on the concern about the placement of Russian bases in Belarus.

President of Belarus: tomorrow we'll discuss with Putin further actions of the joint force grouping

The President also disclosed to the journalists the agenda of the upcoming talks with Vladimir Putin. Alexander Lukashenko will visit Russia on February 18. Thus, the Presidents are expected to discuss further activities of a joint grouping of troops and may inspect the allied exercises, which will end on February 20.

The President answered journalists' questions

The President is traditionally most open with reporters. Foreign correspondents, including representatives of the Western press, had an opportunity today to assess the Belarusian democracy. Our country has nothing to hide, the exercises are held exclusively for defensive purposes - to protect the country from external aggression as well as to counteract terrorism and to be able to defend the interests of the Union State.
