President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko sent a letter of congratulations to the workers of information and communications on their professional holidays - Day of Press and Day of Radio, Television and Communications. This was reported to BelTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
"The rapid development of communications electronic media and social networks has radically changed the lives of people on our planet," reads the congratulatory message. - Economic and social opportunities have expanded, as well as opportunities for simple communication, but at the same time the world and the man himself have become more vulnerable. It is no coincidence that the phrase 'information warfare' has entered our vocabulary.
The head of state noted that mass media workers and specialists who ensure operation of communication systems are, in fact, on the frontline of the information front where there is an uncompromising battle for people's minds and souls: "We cannot lose to those who intend to cancel our history and culture, and the state and the Belarusian people at the same time".
"Your noble mission is not just to publish a newspaper or a TV report, but to bring the life-giving word of truth which helps people rise above the commonplace, gives strength for creation and makes them true patriots of the Fatherland," said Alexander Lukashenko.
The President wished the workers of the information and communication sector strong health, happiness, well-being, peaceful skies, new creative projects and achievements.
