President of Belarus presents state awards to families of fallen heroes

17 декабря 2021
Today we are commemorating true heroes. Those who gave their lives in the performance of their service duty were commemorated in the Palace of Independence today.

The President bestowed state awards to the families of the fallen pilots Andrei Nichiporchik and Nikita Kukonenko and KGB officer Dmitry Fedosyuk. Each of them became an example of real service to the people and the country. Back in May, a Yak-130 crashed in Baranovichi. The team of pilots drove the plane away from residential buildings at the last moment in order to avoid casualties on the ground. The pilots did not eject. As the boxes show, they fought till the end.  They were posthumously awarded the honorary title of the Hero of Belarus. And in September during a special operation an officer of special unit "Alfa" was killed during a fire-fight. The criminal shot Dmitry right in the heart, but he managed to kill the murderer. The entire country was shocked by the tragedy. The officer's services to his homeland were also marked at the highest level. May the memory of the heroes live forever.
