Today the legendary regimental cannon P-27 took its place in the historical and cultural complex Stalin Line. It was picked up from the bottom of the Western Dvina. Interestingly, this unique exhibit lay under water for 70 years. And now, this weapon can provide for a visual tour in history.
In many divisions and regiments this cannon was a real asset during the fight. The compact and versatile machine can be easily moved around the firing position, which made it possible to beat the enemy in different directions.
Alexander Metla, director of historical and cultural complex Stalin Line: Only a small number of these cannons survived to our time. It is unique both in terms of preservation and restoration.
As if in memory of its past exploits, the legendary P-27 today showed itself in action for the last time. And now, as it befits a veteran, it will take its honorable place in the Open Air Museum.
