Russia wants to see Ukraine demilitarized, friendly, without a ban on the Russian language, and seeks to prevent a neo-Nazi state from forming in Ukraine. The Russian and Ukrainian foreign ministers held talks in Turkey's Antalya today. As Sergey Lavrov stated, the Russian initiative to open daily humanitarian corridors remains in force. Unfortunately, the West continues to pose threat to Russia's security with the hands of Ukrainian mercenaries and at the expense of the lives of Ukrainian citizens. It is known that Kiev was planning an attack on the DNR and LNR as early as this month.
Sergey Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister:
We see the dangerous acts of our Western colleagues, including the EU, which, in violation of all its principles and values, is encouraging the supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine, including thousands of portable surface-to-air missile systems that can travel anywhere and which terrorists have used to pose threats to civil aviation.
Willingness to continue negotiations
Russia's foreign minister commented on Kuleba's statement that the sides have not reached a cease-fire agreement. "We have not come to replace the negotiation track going on in Belarus, there is a business conversation on this issue," Lavrov said. As for possible talks between the Presidents of Russia and Ukraine, about which they talk daily in Kiev, they should not "be a meeting for the sake of a meeting," but should fix specific agreements, the minister stressed.
