Ministry of Health of Belarus has updated the list of diseases that are prohibited to become adoptive parents, foster parents, tutors of family-type children's homes, children's villages or towns, as well as guardians and trustees, Sputnik informs.
This is provided by the decree number 81 of August 9, which has been officially published on the National Legal Internet Portal.
The list includes diseases such as tuberculosis, leprosy, sexually transmitted infections, HIV, malignant tumors, certain diseases of blood and blood forming organs, diabetes, thyroid disease and even diseases associated with malnutrition.
Some injuries may also be grounds for refusal to adopt children, if it is an injury to the head, neck, chest, abdomen, lower back, lumbar spine and pelvis, shoulder girdle and shoulder, elbow and forearm, wrist and hand, hip and thigh, knee, ankle and foot, injuries involving multiple areas of the body, thermal and chemical burns.
