Even before dawn, the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War was honored in the Belarusian capital. This is traditionally done by the border guards. Every year, at 4:00 am on June 22, a requiem meeting is held in Victory Square in Minsk.
Red carnations were laid at the foot of the obelisk to the fallen heroes as a symbol of memory. Veterans, border guards and law enforcement officers of different departments have gathered here today, in a symbolic place for every Belarusian, near the Victory Monument, to honor the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War. June 22, 1941 will stay forever in the memory of Belarusians.
