Belarus and Russia will do everything together to meet the challenges that are now against our countries, said Chairman of the Council of the Republic of Belarus Natalia Kochanova during a meeting with members of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation from Krasnodar region, BelTA informs.

"We had the Governor of Krasnodar region at the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia. We got familiar with him. Krasnodar Krai and Belarus have good relations, and not only in terms of economy, although it is very important. We have increased trade turnover. Southern Russia is the breadbasket of Russia. You know the attitude of the President of Belarus to agriculture. A lot has been done to support the agro-industrial complex of our country. We are happy that this year we have a good harvest, weather has helped. So our cooperation is developing, but there is no limit to perfection," said the Speaker of the Upper House.

Natalia Kochanova noted the importance of the beginning of cooperation between the Council of the Republic and the Federation Council on youth work. "The Memory Train is, in my opinion, a unique project. I plan to visit Moscow in the near future and together with Valentina Matvienko we will work on this project for the next year. We have a Youth Council under the National Assembly, the second convocation has been recently elected. Therefore, we will be very happy if our young people become friends and cooperate. They are communicating even now. But if there will be such close relations with Krasnodar Region, it will also be wonderful. We will think over some other projects that will allow us to work in the direction of youth policy. The future belongs to young people and we need to promote this cooperation. From our side, we will do our best, noted the speaker. And, of course, 28 union programs that have been signed on the Supreme State Council by Presidents of our countries. We have agreed that we will monitor their implementation.

Belarus and Russia have a lot of different areas for cooperation, said Natalia Kochanova. The Speaker underlined that there is an active cooperation on the governors' level, but there should also be an exchange of visits between the chairmen of the regional, city and district councils of deputies. "Yes, we have twin cities, they really work in all directions, but there are not so many such official visits of legislators of the two countries. When Valentina Matvienko and I summed up the Forum of Regions in an informal atmosphere, I put forward this initiative, and Valentina Ivanovna supported it," the Speaker added.
