he VII CIS Documentary Film Festival "Eurasia.DOC" opened on October 3 in Smolensk. In the Belarusian capital the main events of the forum will take place on October 6 and 7. The audience will be able to see 32 documentaries from 12 countries during two days in "Belarus" Theater House. Andrey Krivosheev, Director General of "Minsk-News" agency, Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Journalists, told about the films and the format of the screenings during the program "Late till Midnight".
"What topics primarily concern documentary filmmakers now? Certainly, the events in Donbass," said the chairman of the Belarusian Union of Journalists. - Journalism and documentaries could not fail to respond to the hostilities that are taking place, in fact, on our soil, because it is our whole post-Soviet space."
The second most popular topic, according to Andrey Krivosheev, is humanism. "This is the highlight of the current festival. They highlight brutalization, dehumanization, the neo-Nazi theories and practices that arise," he stated.
There will be a lot of films about volunteer work, helping the homeless and disabled. The entry is free. "Choose any film from the festival program and come. There will be a director, an author, an expert, a representative of the Belarusian journalism," said Andrey Krivosheev.
You will be able to talk to the filmmakers, eyewitnesses, heroes, people who have been in Donbass. These are responsible for every word, the viewer will be able to ask them any question (of course, within the limits of normal discussion and ethics).
"Whether you like documentary filmmaking or not, whether you treat it critically and think it lags behind the pace created by social media and messengers, I just recommend everyone once again to come. You won't regret it," concluded Andrey Krivosheev.
