Europe has been hit by the domino effect: increased demand and panic raise the price bar and create a deficit. Firewood, for example, is very expensive in Europe today. One of the main solutions to save money is to lower the temperature in homes and social institutions to 19 degrees. And what about Belarus? Our heating season has started according to plan. Kindergartens, schools, hospitals and other social facilities were first served with heat. Batteries in kindergartens in the capital, as well as in schools, hospitals and other social facilities in Minsk got warmer yesterday.
How the prices for public utilities will change in Belarus
Until the new year, Minsk heating system needs to replace 25 kilometers of pipes. The work is currently underway at two sites. In order to heat the new residential district Druzhba and part of Malinovka in time for the heating season, the heating main was reconstructed. And it's not just the iron pipes that were laid. They use modern polyurethane insulation. All main heating networks in Minsk will be 100% ready by Friday.
In Belarus, housing and utilities services did not get more expensive.
Vitaly Smirnov, Deputy Minister of Housing and Communal Services of Belarus:
“The increase, which was expected by June 1 was canceled by the government. Prices and tariffs remained at the same level. But from January 1 (that is, we make appropriate estimates and forecasts), there will be an increase in tariffs within the limits set by the head of state. i.e. it's not more than $5 per year.
When will houses get warmer? It also depends on the weather, if the thermometer reads 8 degrees or lower for five days. The decisions will be made by local authorities. But heat will come anyway.
