Morning at logistics center on Belarusian-Polish border

17 ноября 2021

Belarus 1 cameras continue to work at the border. For many, it was the first night in the warmth and with warm food. The day before, the logistic center was quickly prepared  for the accommodation of refugees. The President instructed the Governor of Grodno region, Vladimir Karanik, and his regional helper, Yury Karayev, to organize a night shelter for them. Warm clothes and blankets were quickly distributed to people, first of all women and children. Six field kitchens were organized. In the morning, while people were still awake, dry rations were distributed. In a minute the main breakfast would begin.

Women and children were accommodated at the logistics center in the first place. There was enough room for everyone who wished to be accommodated. Refugees came here in groups. People felt safe at the Center. They could get warm and dry clothes in a warm room. It was especially important because the day before the Polish side showered frozen migrants, who had spent many days on the streets, with water cannons. People began to wake up at about eight in the morning and a hot porridge breakfast was organized for them. Representatives of the Red Cross also work here, they brought food and water.

Mothers, many of them have many children, are now gathering their babies, feeding them and wrapping them in warm clothes. There are medical teams on duty at the logistics center, ready to help in case of need. The situation at the center is calm. We continue to monitor the situation on the Belarusian-Polish border.
