History and modernity of the Pripyat Polesie. The seventh festival of ethno-cultural traditions "Call of Polesie" in the agro-town of Lyaskovichi gathered thousands of people from different parts of Belarus and Russia. The organizers, participants and guests were greeted by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. The main heroes of the festival - the polishmen from 13 districts of Gomel and Brest regions - have presented traditional refreshments, folklore, customs and crafts of their land. The organizers have prepared a lot of surprises for the guests of the festival.

Nikolay Skintian learned what the "Call of Polesye-2022" surprised with.

More than one and a half thousand participants. The program is sated as never before. The traditions of the festival are not forgotten: three representatives from Gomel and Brest regions received the prize "Ganarowy Paleshuk". "Call of Polesye" united the history and modernity of the Pripyat region.

Tatiana Nevmerzhitskaya, head of the folk ensemble "Yalinka":

"Call of Polesie" is an ethnographic festival. And, of course, it is love to our roots, to our land, love to our native Belarus.

Eight districts of the Gomel region, five of the Brest region. Each has its own specifics. They are interactive. Every guest of the festival was able to touch the history of the region, learn about the crafts - traditional and modern.

Performances of creative groups from Belarus and Russia, food courts, children's entertainment zones. This year's festival features a special scope and many surprises.

Beauty contest, ethnozoofest and even "flying people". The organizers of the festival have something to surprise their guests. Particular attention is paid to the preservation of historical memory. Interactive platform "Partisan land" completely immerses guests in the atmosphere of the war years.

Partisan life and songs around the campfire. Also at the site prepared quests on the history of the Great Patriotic War. Real artifacts of the past are used in the interactives.

Another novelty - boogurt. Or in simple words - a knight's duel. Artists of the historic theater recreate the atmosphere of the Middle Ages for over 10 years. Armor, helmets, swords - in a word, everything is real. They came from Gomel, expect to return to Lyaskovichi for the eighth "Call of Polesye".

"Call of Polesie" is held every two years. The seventh festival was attended by at least 30 thousand people - the record of the year before last was broken. The organizers are sure that this is not the limit - the number of guests and participants will increase.
