Brest recently celebrated its millennium. The interchange Western Bypass opened for the anniversary of the regional center. The bypass connected several international highways, unloaded the city from traffic jams, made it cleaner and more convenient. The bridge is rightly considered to be Brest's greatest achievement in recent years.
The construction of the Western Bypass began by presidential decree. A large construction site has unfolded a few kilometers from the state border. The designers needed to connect the highways of several countries as well as local roads. It was built in record time: in two and a half years.
The movement on the new bridge was launched during the celebration of the Millennium of Brest. The opening ceremony was attended by the Head of State.
The new highway, the South Bypass, will circle Brest from the south. The transit cars will be able to go straight to the international highway M1, which, by the way, is planned to be rebuilt into an autobahn in the near future. It will also be the first one in Belarus.
