К. Kurylev: Ukraine's position on Belarus imposed from outside

While building relations with Ukraine, one should keep in mind that its foreign policy has not been independent for a long time. This opinion was shared by Director of the Russian Center for Post-Soviet Countries Konstantin Kurylev with our TV channel.

According to the expert, Ukraine's joining the sanctions against Belarus is just another decision, dictated from the outside, which once again shows the inconsistency of Ukrainian politics.

Konstantin Kurylev, professor at the Russian Peoples' Friendship University, director of the Center for Studies of Post-Soviet Countries (Russia): "It has never been independent and at the present stage, it is the most independent. The events of 2014 actually made Ukraine a definitively controlled state from the outside. This has to be taken into account in terms of building a relationship with it. They did what could be expected from them, from the political regime that exists in the country. As soon as the events inside Belarus began, Ukraine quite predictably made the corresponding U-turn and demonstrated its true aspirations, or rather the true aspirations of those forces behind it, namely, the USA".
