The publishing house "Petrus Brovka Belarusian Encyclopedia" has released a new edition of "Partisan Belarus". The illustrated encyclopedia about guerrilla life was published in the series "Belarus remembers. In the name of life and peace" timed to the 75th anniversary of the liberation of our country. It is in Belarus that the guerrilla movement was the most wide-spread and organized. Some 400,000 people fought the enemy in the occupied territory. It's a whole front. And more than 180,000 guerrillas joined the Red Army to free Europe.

The book presents more than 600 photo documents. Many of them are published for the first time. The encyclopedia was published in two languages: Russian and English.

Olga Vanina, director of the publishing house "Petrus Brovka Belarusian Encyclopedia": "We believe it is important to make sure that this information is known not only in Belarus, but also widely in the world, because now, unfortunately, there is a tendency to distort the events of military history, to present them in a different light, and it is very important to convey this information to people who live outside Belarus."

The edition was released with an age lim it of 12+. The fact is that the topic is quite painful and difficult for children's perception. Information of this kind needs special adaptation. That is why by the end of the year the publishing house will publish the encyclopedia "The Great Patriotic War" for children of primary school age.

"Partisan Belarus" has become a real national project. It was the result of the joint work of dozens of institutions from the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences to district museums of local history. Documents and photo materials for the publication were provided by the National Archives and the Museum of the Great Patriotic War History. The book was included in the list of socially significant projects.
