Ivan Eismont: No Belarusian journalist has ever been ordered to lie on air

28 октября 2022
None of the Belarusian journalists have ever been commanded to lie on air, said  Chairman of Belteleradiocompany Ivan Eismont at the IX Forum of Young Journalists "Belarusian Media - 2022: Traditional and New Forms of Work," BelTA informs.

"Believe me, none of our journalists have received instructions to lie on air. Our task is to tell people the truth. It's not that easy. By the time the truth is pronounced, the lie is already circling the planet. But we know from the example of the events of 2020 how many people's eyes were opened to those things after a year and a half or two years. So we have to be patient and work including the young journalists", noted Eismont.

According to him, freedom of speech in the West is a myth. "The West behaves quite aggressively working with fakes. Those institutions that have been created in Ukraine themselves  admitted  to 660 hacker attacks in the territory of Belarus, while the number of fakes is measured in tens of thousands. Our task is to fight this, to tell people the truth," said Ivan Eismont.

The forum is taking place today in Minsk and is aimed at improvement of professional skills, development of intra-professional and international communication of young journalists, formation of a single media community of Belarus to ensure the state priorities in the development of the national information space.

The participants of the event are young journalists of national and regional mass media, heads of the  leading Belarusian state mass media, well-known political scientists, media experts and popular Belarusian bloggers.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Information.
