Back in 1945 Belarus and Ukraine became full-fledged members of the United Nations. Thus, the world appreciated its unprecedented victimhood in fighting the fascist aggression. The founding members pledged to defend peace, fight poverty and diseases.

Sanaka Samarasinha, UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus: Belarus helped the entire world to realize the importance of Chernobyl catastrophe and mitigate the aftermath of the catastrophe. Besides, many countries learn how to fight trafficking in human beings from Belarus.

Elena Dogopolova, Senior Deputy Director of the National Library of Belarus: Starting 1967 we have been receiving all UN materials. And these archives are so big that we have opened a special section for them.

The documents witness historical documents witnessing Belarus' accession to the UN and real facts of its efforts such as saving children from measles in Kongo, fighting draught and famine. In total, photos and archive documents occupy 200 volumes.
