Historian, deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Marzalyuk told the truth about the greeting "Live Belarus!" and the response "Live!" in the "Actual Interview" project.
Igor Marzalyuk, historian, deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus:
"Live Belarus!" is a battle cry of response with a hand lifted in a Hitlerite’s salute. This attribute, this "Live Belarus!" greeting was invented by Fabijan Akinczyc, the leader of the Belarusian Nazi, among whom it was a branded greeting. In the Belarusian territorial defense they used to salute each other the same way. It was even prescribed to greet the superiors this way. Kube and Gottberg were addressing the Belarusian collaborators with such a greeting. There are a lot of documents about it.”
According to the historian, from July 27, 1942 Kube allowed using the white-red-white symbols during all holidays and processions together with the Nazi symbols. This permission was published in the "Ranitsa" newspaper in Berlin. And this symbolism was used throughout the entire occupation," said Igor Marzalyuk.
