17 марта 2019

Knowing the price of peace, our country does not remain aloof to the grief of others. 500 Syrian children will go to Belarus for health improvement in May-June, now the details of the trip are being worked out. This information was voiced by the ambassador of Belarus to Syria Yuri Sluk during the visit of the official delegation from Minsk, which donated humanitarian aid to the Syria.

The decree on rendering assistance was adopted literally at the end of 2018. Since 2015, Belarus has been providing humanitarian assistance to this country. In March, containers from Belarus were shipped to the port of Latakia. The humanitarian aid includes medicines and food. A number of medical centers are in line to receive such support. During the visit of the official delegation from Minsk two of them have already received the assistance.

Thanks to help from Belarus, clothes will be provided to thousands of children, and 30 new classrooms will be equipped with furniture and stationery.

Last year the countries marked the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations, which withstood the most difficult trials. Belarus supports Syria at all sites and will continue to do so. At the same time, the economic issues are also being worked out: for example, launching a MAZ assembly workshop or creating joint construction organizations.
