After the report of Minister of Justice Sergei Khomenko, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko set the task to introduce the notion of "civil society" at the legislative level.
According to the Minister of Justice, such work is carried out today. It is being done very painstakingly, with the study of all approaches. Different departments, from the Presidential Administration to local executive authorities and local councils of deputies are involved in working out the wording of what "civil society" is, what subjects of civil society are, and what forms of interaction between civil society and special forms of interaction are necessary.
"Representatives of civil society are people whose activities are aimed at maintaining the constitutional order and development of our state," explained Sergei Khomenko. In all other cases you have the right to your own opinion, you have the right to express certain positions and thoughts, but the constitutional order, stability and compliance with the law must be unconditional.
Everything depends on the initiative of the people themselves, which, according to the Minister of Justice, is the driving force of progress. And an example is the actions taken in Belarus to take care of the historical monuments, to put in order in the territories, in the places of residence.
"And, by the way, guests and tourists coming to visit us are envious of the order we have. And we are proud of it, because we live this way," stated Sergei Khomenko.
