Starting from April 15, citizens of Lithuania and Latvia are allowed visa-free entry to Belarus, The State Border Committee reports. The decision was made for a number of reasons: the upcoming religious holidays, as well as long-term coronavirus restrictions on the EU neighboring countries citizens, which did not allow them visiting their Belarusian relatives without visas. From tomorrow and for a month, Lithuanians and Latvians can exercise the visa-free right an unlimited number of times and stay throughout the territory of our country.
Anton Bychkovsky, spokesperson for the State Border Committee of Belarus:
After the lifting of coronavirus restrictions, as well as in connection with the approaching Orthodox and Catholic religious holidays, the country's leadership has granted visa-free entry, exit and stay in Belarus to citizens of Latvia and Lithuania. Also, this category of visitors is allowed to visit the border area without a pass.
To enter Belarus, all foreigners must present a valid document for traveling abroad, a green card when traveling by car, a negative PCR test or a certificate of vaccination, as well as medical insurance.
