Today, State Secretary Alexander Volfovich commented on the difficult situation on the Belarusian-Lithuanian borders: the border guards will continue to perform their task - to keep the border closed. As noted the  Secretary of State of the Security Council, "if you continue to exacerbate the situation and provoke our border guards, it will lead to no good". This is the background to a comprehensive operational and tactical exercise in Grodno Region. The maneuvers include three phases and will last until August 12. The active phase took place today during which the reserve servicemen together with the Defense Ministry forces worked on the defense and destruction of subversive groups. According to the plan of the exercise, several sabotage groups penetrated into the territory of our country. Border guards were the first to give battle to the enemy. Subsequently, with the support of the motorized riflemen the enemy was taken to the cordon and began the elimination operation. Locate and neutralize. The scenario is close to the real one, the shooting is not far from the border.

Today, the Grodno Border Guard Group conducted an active phase of a tactical exercise. More than 160 reservists were called up from the reserves to participate in the maneuvers. These are men who served in the Border Guards and not only in the army. During the week fighters were directly involved in border patrol service. Reservists, so to speak, refreshed their knowledge. Practical exercises in border guard tactics, combined arms, special and firearms training helped. For the border guard officers themselves, the maneuvers in question cannot be called typical. Nevertheless, the State Secretary of the Security Council also highly assessed the actions of the units. According to Alexander Volfovich, the system of state border defense meets today's requirements and protects our country from encroachments from the outside. Alexander Volfovich, State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus: "It's nice to see that they have an understanding of what they were drafted for and that besides us, there are men who have to defend their country. Of course we wouldn't want to take people away from their jobs - combine harvesters, farmers, workers at our enterprises. But if there is a need and a danger that threatens our country, of course we will call for those who are needed and will protect our borders and our country."

The integrated operational and tactical exercise, provides for three phases. The main goals are to improve the combat and mobilization readiness of the border guard group and to increase the level of operational control in conditions of increasing threats to border and military security. The maneuvers will finish on Thursday.
