Ensuring information sovereignty of Belarus main task

2020 allowed Belarusian journalism to open up. Many respectful opinions were expressed. This was announced today by Minister of Information Igor Lutskiy at the final board of the Ministry of Information. Also, now the task is to ensure information security and the sovereignty of our state. Therefore, it is important to prevent the provocative activities of individual media outlets and to regulate their work at the legislative level. Indeed, some mass media not only inaccurately covered the events in the country, but also became accomplices of the organizers of unauthorized speeches.

The meeting also considered proposals to change the work of the regional press. District mass media are planning either to subordinate the regional executive committees directly, or to create holdings based on regional newspapers. Also, according to the minister, today the print press should be modified. It is necessary to move away from news content and concentrate on investigations. In addition, special attention will be paid to the work of the press services.
