Minsk Region traffic police holds "Pedestrian" action

A snowy and cold February has also caused some troubles for the Belarusian road services. Minsk Region has tightened control on the roads. During the preventive action "Pedestrian" traffic police closely monitors the compliance with traffic rules both by pedestrians and drivers. According to statistics, the main causes of accidents involving pedestrians is the lack of reflective elements, as well as crossing the roadway in the wrong place.  

About 20 traffic accidents involving pedestrians were registered in the territory of Minsk Region since the beginning of the year. 8 people died and 14 people were injured. None of the victims marked themselves in the dark with flickers. The action "Pedestrian" will last until February 19.
