FTU adopts statement in connection with EU violation of workers' rights in Belarus

The introduction of economic sanctions by the European Union against Belarusian enterprises is sanctions against employees of domestic industries and infringement of the fundamental right to work. This is stated in the statement of the Trade Unions of Belarus and its member organizations, which was adopted today in Minsk. The Federation of Trade Unions emphasizes that the sanctioned restriction on the activities of economic units of industry in our country can lead to a decrease in wages, job cuts and a deterioration in the socio-economic situation of not only the employees of the enterprises themselves but also their families.

Mikhail Orda, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus: "We will have different opportunities to protect the interests of workers and today the members of the Trade Union are not alone. The funds will help workers and their families if people suffer from these sanctions. We intend to apply to international institutions, international organizations, and judicial bodies to protect the labor rights of workers. These are the actions that are aimed in order to hit the welfare of people."
