The police of Minsk Region detained a 34-year-old citizen of Minsk, who organized an illegal fund, which was supposed "to deliver products to victims of repression". The author of the start-up stated that he didn't earn anything on it, all the money was spent exclusively on the purchase of goods. A special website was created, where anyone could leave an order and pay for a kit of food products specifying the delivery address. The customers were often from abroad.
The investigation revealed that the maximum market price of the products was listed on the website, but in fact the person was waiting for a large number of orders to buy them cheaper later at wholesale prices, and the difference went to his pocket. When the excitement and the number of customers decreased, the citizen of Minsk closed the site. The man was brought to administrative responsibility for organizing a fund without registration.
Mikhail Gerchik, Deputy Head of Economic Police Department at Minsk City Executive Committee: "The unlawful activity of a citizen who organized a fund in the territory of Belarus without registration and permission was found and suppressed. The purpose of this fund was to raise money, some of which was spent on buying food products for citizens participating in the protest actions".
