By Natalia Tarasyuk: Kari Louhivuori, one of the most famous teachers of the world and "the ambassador of Finnish education", came to Minsk and gave a talk at one of the city’s schools. Over 1,300 people – parents with children, teachers, tutors, educators, and principals – attended the event.

Kari Louhivuori has been teaching for 40 years now. For 32 years, he was the head of one of the best schools in Finland. Now he acts as a kind of "ambassador of Finnish education" – the education which is considered one of the best in the world. This is confirmed by the high positions in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) rankings. The test assesses the level of knowledge in mathematics, reading, and sciences.

Kari Louhivuori revealed the secret of all successful schools – they focus on their teachers, the educational process, and a comfortable environment.

Also, the Finnish teacher gave his opinion about a project of a new school that will be built in Minsk. According to Kari Louhivuori, this is a very big school by Finnish standards, but it will be beautiful and functional.

The new school will have various zones, including gaming ones, where schoolchildren will be able to communicate comfortably during breaks.

For Belarus, this is a totally new project. The new school will consist of academic buildings for students of junior and senior classes. One of the buildings will have a canteen. In total, over 1,000 children will study in the "school of the future".
