Common historical roots and heroic deeds of peoples unites Belarus and Russia. Today, Minsk celebrates the Day of Multinational Russia. One of the key events can be described as the spiritual unity of the brotherly peoples. In the crypt of the Memorial Church in Honour of All Saints a capsule with the earth from the graves of the Belarusian soldiers who perished in the Crimean War was laid.
Russia Day celebrated in Minsk
It was brought to Minsk by the Belarusian diaspora of the Crimea. In fact, the Belarusians who fell defending our common Homeland have returned to their native land. After all, today, in the era of political doltanism, Belarus and Russia have to protect their historic victories.
Evgeny Lukyanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia in Belarus: "We must know and remember our history, and as long as we remember it, we have a future. The fact that this event coincides with the Day of Russia once again confirms the continuity of history. We must protect our historical memory, our truth, not to mourn over our defeats, to correct them and not allow anyone smear our victories."
It is important for modern Belarusians to keep the memory of the fallen and the event as a proof of brotherhood with the Russian people, not only in spirit, but also in blood.
