Two participants of polar expedition return from travel

Alexander Smirnov: The 7th polar expedition made a large contribution to the development of the Belarusian and world science. Alexei Gaidashov and Vladislav Miaminov were carrying the flag of the National Academy of Science.  Vecherniaya Mount in the Antarctica. They  were preparing the site for the construction of the Belarusian station, which will allow staying there in winter.

Alexei Gaidashov, head of the Belarusian Antarctic expedition: "Extended team of the Belarusians took part in the expedition. The work of the Belarusian specialists was very effective."

 

Another member of the expedition Vladislav Myamin is a teacher at the Belarusian State University.  His mission is microbiology. During the mission he managed to find bacteria degrading oil products, which are in high demand by the environmentalists today. This discovery can be used in ecology, medicine and chemistry.

Vladimir Myamin, engineer and environmentalist at the Belarusian Antarctic Expedition: "Such works have never been performed in this region, that is why they are unique".

 

The expedition to the South Pole is made not only for the researches.  The presence on the large icy continent is very important.
